Jessica & Gavin | Wedding Day | Dalton, Richmond

It’s a funny business being a wedding photographer in the modern age. People often ask ‘which area do you cover?’, and truth be told - with the age of the internet - I think those days are gone. I now find myself driving for an hour or two to venues in locations out of my homeland, which is great as I do enjoy a regular road trip after spending the week editing thousands of photos in front of the computer screen. Not only that, but the only place to play your in-car music playlist is, well…in the car.

So, when Jessica and Gavin gave me the the opportunity to shoot their wedding in Dalton, near Richmond, I knocked the music off, rolled down (ok, pressed a button…) the windows and let the warm, Summer breeze bring me to life for the 15 minute drive to meet Jessica for her bridal preparations.

Jessica and Gavin not only decided to have their wedding at Jessica’s family home, but they’d gone to the extra effort of organising a superb marquee, so incredibly well put together that you’d think was a permanent structure.

That said, there was one difference that Jessica and Gavin made to their wedding, which - due to the busy lifestyles that Jessica and Gavin lead - is that they entrusted Lucy Wright Events to organise their wedding, with Rachel, from Lucy Wright Events joining us on the big day to flawlessly coordinate the event helping Jessica and Gavin to relax and enjoy time with their family and friends.

I have to say, this approach really makes a huge difference. ‘You’ve been such a relaxed couple’ is a commonly used phrase for weddings, but Jessica and Gavin took this to a completely new level. There was no sign of any stress or worry for them both, instead, just huge, genuine smiles throughout the whole day. An absolute dream couple to photograph, and their joy spread to their friends, family, and even wedding suppliers which is a great sign you’ve done everything right.

The ‘Perfect Wedding’ is often hard to find, but I think Jessica and Gavin achieved this and more. Congratulations to them both!

It’s been hard to choose a few preview photos for this blog but I’ve managed to whittle down enough for you to enjoy here.
