Phillipa & Simon | Wedding Day | Aldwark Manor

It's always nice to be back at Aldwark Manor, it has one of my favourite bridal suites to shoot in; plenty of space, light, and two levels to try out some creative photography, and best of all it means I can work unobtrusively which lends perfectly to my documentary approach to my wedding photography.

I know Phillipa had some nerves before the big day, but arriving with her on the morning couldn't have felt more relaxed! A relaxed bride means relaxed bridesmaids, which also means I'm able to grab some great, natural shots of the morning.

No one had seen Phillipa's dress yet, so there was a bit of a challenge to capture the dress alone before it was time for Phillipa to step in to it. We sent the bridesmaids out for a short while whilst Phillipa and I cautiously hung her beautiful dress from the mezzanine where the window light fell perfectly to show it in all its glory.

Once on, we did run in to a very slight wardrobe malfunction which put my dexterity to test, but we all worked together to fix it pretty quickly, just in time for Phillipa to join Simon who was anxiously waiting at the end of the aisle.

The smiles kept flowing through the speeches and in to the evening party, whilst I moved to blend in and capture shots through to the first dance.

I've got far too many favourites from Phillipa and Simon's wedding, but I did manage to select a few for the blog, which you can see below.
