Allison & Jack | Wedding Day | The Parsonage, Escrick

It's amazing how quickly time passes within the wedding industry. It was over two years since I first met Allison & Jack, and with so many changes in life it was nice to finally catch up with them again before their big day.

Allison & Jack chose to marry at St John the Baptist in Stamford Bridge. A small and beautifully situated church, just outside of North Yorkshire and in to the East Riding of Yorkshire, made all the better with the (almost cloudless) sky, which is where I met Jack at the start of my day.

The forecast was a little uncertain, but we remained confident and with hope that we'd make it through the next few hours before any rain showers came upon us. As Jack settled in to position for the expected arrival of his bride, I waited patiently outside with camera in hand.

The beautiful, classic wedding car appeared in the distance as I got myself ready for the all important shots. I snapped away as the wedding car passed, seeing Allison and her Dad smiling as they pulled up outside the church. Allison looked incredible, an absolute dream to photograph. I kept the shutter going until the last minute, before joining Jack to wait for the big entrance.

Jack hid his nerves very well but could see the pride in his face when he saw Allison for the first time in her beautiful wedding dress. This obvious pride shared, very much, by Allison's Father.

I got myself in position ready to capture their important memories and plentiful smiles throughout the ceremony, before we headed across to The Parsonage in Escrick near Selby for their reception.

The clouds were looking a little threatening, but we kept up some hope that we would make it back in time before the heavens opened. I arrived at The Parsonage slightly ahead of the newly  married Bride and Groom, and just as the wedding car joined us, it happened.

The rain fell, with water bouncing off the tarmac but I didn't let this stop me. I kept my camera poised and got the best shots I could, resulting in me sporting a new and very rain soaked shirt. But it was worth it.

Allison & Jack took a few moments to allow most of the rain to pass. With an umbrella at the ready, I prepared for Allison & Jack's exit from the wedding car and joined them for their reception.

We'd made it, and with group and couple photos taken between breaks in the clouds, the evening flowed in to their wedding breakfast and speeches, until their first dance and partying in to the night.

I'd had a full day of exciting photography with Allison, Jack and their excellent guests. It's been a pleasure from start to finish, and I would like to thank Allison & Jack for allowing me to play an important part of their big day, and wish them all the very best together.

I've included a small selection of some of my favourite photos from the day. Please feel free to like, share and comment at the bottom of the page.
